Watford Borough Council Goes Live
Watford Borough Council has joined the National Parking Platform (NPP), giving drivers more choice and flexibility when paying for parking across the council's participating locations.
By joining the NPP, Watford Borough Council is delivering a more convenient and driver-focused parking experience, allowing motorists to use the preferred and trusted parking app rather than being restricted to a single provider.
The National Parking Platform is a government-backed initiative, supported by the Departmentfor Transport, that makes parking simpler by enabling multiple approved parking payment providers to operate seamlessly through a single platform.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor said: “We’re pleased to be joining the National Parking Platform, giving people parking in Watford more choice in how they pay. Being able to use a preferred parking app rather than having to download a different one for different locations will make parking simpler and more convenient for residents and visitors.”
Drivers can now pay for parking using a range of approved payment providers through mobile apps on their smartphone.
The National Parking Platform is already supporting more than 1,500 parking locations across 24 local authorities, as it continues to grow nationwide with more councils soon to join.
David Sinclair Executive Director at the National Parking Platform said: "We're excited to welcome Watford Borough Council to the National Parking Platform as our latest participating authority. Watford's commitment to innovation and improving customer experience makes them a fantastic addition to the growing NPP community. Every new go-live is another step towards making parking simpler, fairer and more convenient across the UK, and we're proud to be working with forward-thinking councils like Watford to make that vision a reality."
