National Parking Platform Goes Live Across Somerset to Make Parking Simpler

The National Parking Platform (NPP), thegovernment-backed initiative transforming how motorists pay for parking acrossthe UK, has announced that Somerset Council has joined the platform.

From 22nd of September, motoristsparking at participating Somerset Council locations will be able to pay forparking using their preferred mobile parking application, removing the need todownload a specific app when visiting the area.

Drivers simply need to look for the NPPlogo on parking signage and can then pay using their app of choice from agrowing list of approved providers, including RingGo, JustPark, PayByPhone,Caura, APCOA Connect and AppyParking.

By enabling multiple approved apps tooperate across its parking locations, Somerset Council is giving residents andvisitors greater choice and convenience, while helping to create a moreconsistent parking experience.

The National Parking Platform is agovernment-backed technology platform that enables multiple approved parkingpayment providers to operate seamlessly across participating local authorityparking locations. By creating a single, open platform, NPP gives motorists thefreedom to use the parking app of their choice while helping councils simplifyparking management and improve service resilience.

Additionally, NPP removes thefrustration of motorists needing to download different parking apps whentravelling between towns and cities. Instead, drivers can continue using apreferred provider wherever the National Parking Platform is available.
